あらすじ

時は平安。鳥羽院の兄、薄雲皇子は弟に帝の位を奪われ、密かに謀反を企てていました。ある日、鳥羽院が寵愛している玉藻前が、神泉苑にある御殿で和歌を詠んでいると、妖しい狐が現れます。この狐は天竺や中国で王様の妃となり、正体を暴かれて日本に渡ってきた魔物でした。狐は玉藻前を殺してその姿に化け、薄曇皇子に謀反の手助けをすると約束しますが、その様子を見ていた陰陽師安倍泰成は、神聖な鏡の威力で狐を追い払うのでした。人形の見せ場が多く、淡路人形が得意とする演目の一つです。
