あらすじ
十郎兵衛・お弓の夫婦は、徳島の玉木家の家宝国次の刀を探すため、大阪の玉造に住み、十郎兵衛は名前も銀十郎と変え盗賊の仲間に入っていました。お弓が留守番をしているところに手紙が届きました。十郎兵衛らの悪事が露見し、追っ手がかかったので、早く立ち退くようにとの知らせでした。お弓は夫の無事と刀の発見を祈って神仏に願をかけているところに、順礼の娘が訪れます。国許に残してきた自分の娘と同じ年頃なので、話を聞いてみると両親を探して徳島からはるばる旅をしてきたという身の上を語ります。両親の名前を聞いてみると間違いなく自分の娘であることがわかりました。今すぐに抱きしめ母と名乗りたい思いを抑え、盗賊の罪が娘に及ぶことを恐れて、国へ帰るように諭します。そしてこのままここにおいて欲しいと頼むおつるを、お弓は泣く泣く追い返します。おつるの歌う順礼歌が遠のくと、お弓はこらえきれずに泣き崩れるのでした。しかし、このまま別れてはもう会えないと思い直し、急いでおつるの後を追います。
